Ten CMKOS affiliates representing state and public employees declared a day-long strike in protest against Government's austerity measures. The strike will take place on 8th December 2010. Among the reasons of the strike belong especially the plan of the Government to cut the volume of money for salaries in public sector by 10 per cent next year, the way in which the Government wants to make this reduction, but also the fact that the budgetary cuts may lead to overall deterioration of public services, namely health service, and thus affect all citizens.

The unions of police and firemen, who are not allowed to strike, will organise a demonstration on 15th December.
Unions of state and public employees are supported also by the CMKOS affiliates from the private sector.
